TV 8.5 started broadcasting within the Mng Media Group on February 25, 1999. It is a television channel that has been broadcasting under the auspices of Acun Media Group since 2013. As of September 9, 2013, TV has successfully completed the transition to 8.5 16:9 widescreen format. Acun Media Group, owned by Acun Ilıcalı, bought the channel on 13 November 2013. Later, with the transfer of the channel to Acun Media Group, a format change was made again and TV 8.5 started to broadcast as an entertainment channel. This format change had some consequences.

Employees currently working in the TV 8,5 news department were terminated and their relations with the channel were terminated. In addition, the program named  "Telegol" , which was transferred from Kanaltürk, was also cancelled, and was taken off the air. Since September 2014, all programs in Acun Medya have been moved to TV 8.5 channel. In addition,  channel Copa del Rey has placed under its patronage the right of the Coppa Italia competitions tv broadcast.

It quickly changed its icon, generics and slogan on September 1, 2014. At the same time, it was broadcast simultaneously in HD quality on the Digiturk platform. TV 8.5's HD broadcast was started on February 18, 2015, over Türksat. They got the NBA broadcasting rights in March 2016.
